Charly Boy Launches ‘999’ Memoir in London in Support of Prostate Cancer Awareness

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo Joins Distinguished Guests at London Book Launch
London played host to a remarkable gathering of personalities on 29 September 2026, as renowned Nigerian entertainer and social activist Charly Boy presented his memoir, “999: Memoir of Charly Boy,” at the Grand Empire, Catford, London.
The event, organised by Digispring International, combined literature, personal reflection and an important humanitarian cause through the Global Men’s Health and Prostate Cancer Awareness Initiative, in support of prostate cancer awareness in the United Kingdom.

One of the major highlights of the occasion was the presence of former President of Nigeria and former military Head of State, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who joined other distinguished personalities at the London launch of the memoir.
The occasion was chaired by Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu, Chairman of Chisco Group, adding to the distinguished profile of personalities who gathered to celebrate Charly Boy and support the wider message of men’s health awareness.
‘999’ — The Story Behind Charly Boy

Charly Boy, one of Nigeria’s most recognisable entertainment personalities, has built a reputation spanning music, media, entertainment and social activism.
His memoir, “999,” provides an opportunity for readers to encounter the experiences, challenges and defining moments behind the personality popularly known as the “Area Fada.”
The London launch went beyond the presentation of a book. It provided a platform to bring greater attention to an issue affecting men and families across different communities — prostate cancer and the importance of men taking their health seriously.

Through the Global Men’s Health and Prostate Cancer Awareness Initiative, the occasion encouraged greater conversation around men’s health, awareness and early attention to possible health concerns.
Obasanjo Adds Prestige to London Gathering
The appearance of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was a significant moment at the event. Guests welcomed the former Nigerian leader as he joined Charly Boy and other dignitaries in marking the London presentation of 999.
The gathering brought together members of the Nigerian and African communities in the United Kingdom, business personalities, community leaders, media representatives, supporters and well-wishers.

With Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu serving as Chairman of the Occasion, the event reflected the combination of literature, entertainment, leadership, community engagement and humanitarian advocacy that defined the evening.
A Book Launch With a Greater Purpose
While the celebration centred on Charly Boy’s memoir, its connection with prostate cancer awareness gave the occasion an additional purpose.
The partnership with the Global Men’s Health and Prostate Cancer Awareness Initiative helped use the visibility surrounding the book launch to encourage men, particularly within African communities, to become more conscious of their health and to seek appropriate medical advice and screening when necessary.

For Charly Boy, whose public life has often been associated with challenging conventions and encouraging conversations around social issues, the London launch represented another platform through which his story could contribute to a broader public discussion.
Organised by Digispring International, the event at the Grand Empire, Catford, London, successfully brought together the celebration of an extraordinary personal journey and a campaign carrying an important message for men everywhere.
Celebration International Magazine was there as London welcomed Charly Boy, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu and other distinguished guests for an evening celebrating a memoir, a remarkable life story and a worthy cause.
